We are a physiotherapy clinic located in North Vancouver, BC, dedicated to improving the quality of life for our patients through reduced pain and increased mobility.
About Us
Our clinic specializes in manual therapy. This form of physical therapy is delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine.
Our approach to manual therapy is different. We do not practice thrust manipulation, typically referred to as “chiropractic”. We conduct repeated joint mobilization using sustained pressure to gradually reduce soft tissue restriction and increase joint movement. Time is given between mobilizations to allow the gradually increasing circulation and nerve conduction to have its effect softening the surrounding tissues.
Our mobilization is easily “graduated” or varied to match the patient and the pathology, or sensitivity of the tissue. A strong athlete may require sustained power to release a joint in the lower back. An elderly patient will require gentle pressure with more repetition. As the mobilization is sustained, patient feedback is used to guide the process.
As our approach is progressive and repeated, we can gradually and safely work until a positive result is achieved.
